Save painful teeth
Root canal treatment can be used to save painful teeth. If a tooth has an irreversibly inflamed pulp or nerve, or if the nerve has died and there is infection present, and there is enough tooth structure available to restore the tooth afterward we may be able to save the tooth. Root canal treatment is the process of cleaning and shaping the natural canals within the tooth and removing debris and bacteria. The canals are then filled with a special material called Guttapercha and a special cement. Root canal treatment usually takes 2-3 longer visits to complete as it is quite a complicated process and there are steps that need to be followed to have a successful outcome. Quite often if you decide to have a root canal you are also committing to needing a crown afterwards. If you invest in the crown, this restores the strength long term.
